Summer is the perfect time to head to the hills for a refreshing break. Kodaikanal, a charming town in Tamil Nadu, offers the ideal summer escape with its cool climate, lush landscapes, and tranquil lakes. This picturesque hill station is perfect for those looking to unwind and enjoy nature.

61st Kodai Vizha Festival

Kodaikanal is especially vibrant during the annual Kodai Vizha flower show. The 61st Kodai Vizha, held from May 17-26 at Bryant Park, features an impressive display of 500,000 flowers from 42 different varieties. Organized by the Department of Horticulture, the event includes stalls from both government and private entities.

Festival Highlights

As part of the Kodai Vizha celebrations, the tourism department has organized various activities, including a boat race at Kodaikanal Lake, a dog show, sports events, and performances of folk arts and traditional music. Here are the top five things to do in Kodaikanal during the festival:

A short drive from Kodaikanal town brings you to Silver Cascade Falls, a beautiful waterfall that cascades down from a height of 180 feet. The falls are created by the overflow from Kodaikanal Lake and are most impressive during the monsoon season. The picturesque surroundings make it a popular spot for tourists to take photos.
